This park was a great reminder of the “delicateness” of life. We felt privilege to see these arches which might not always be around. Formed from salt, sand and weathering, the arches are continually eroding. The message at this park was “constant change” – a wonderful tangible symbol of life and reality.
We didn’t have enough time to explore everything we would have liked as we were traveling from Salt Lake City to Durango that day, but for a first-time visit for the kids, it was amazing.
We did the simple hike up to the Delicate Arch upper view and stopped to see Balanced Rock.
More time! Plan to spend at least one full day here, if not more. At minimum, hike up to the Delicate Arch upper view and drive through the whole park, taking in the 360 panorama views. Have good music or a great audio book playing for the kids.
